Miami Township Career Fire Fighters Local 2951 annually adopts three (3) families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. We collect donations from the Fire Department personnel and area businesses to in turn purchase food and gifts for these families. The families are adopted from the local area and are always very appreciative.
Last year the local Bob Evans Restaurant teamed up with us and brought a great wholesome meal to these families at no charge. With the delivery of this great and generous gift these families get to enjoy a high quality meal that is delivered Thanksgiving and Christmas mornings by the fire fighters.
We cannot express how much these donations are appreciated by both the adopted families and our fire department family. We enjoy our jobs and that we get to help people everyday but this function allows us to be a different kind of help, sometimes more satisfying than what we do on a daily basis.
This year is sure to be one of our most trying holiday seasons in recent history in the Miami Valley. We are acknowledging that the area businesses listed below and Bob Evans Restaurants have again found a way to help us help others in having a great holiday by donating those wonderful meals and the funds to allow us to do this again in 2008.
